Disaster Relief T-shirt



東北地方(ちほう)地震(じしん)と津波(つなみ)はたいへんでしたね。Japan ClubでDisaster reliefのTシャツを作りました。1まい10ドルです。
買いたい人はJapan Clubの人と話して下さい。メールをしてもいいですよ。私はとてもいいデザインだと思うんですが、みなさんはどう思いますか?

地方(ちほう)=region
地震(じしん)=earthquake

The purpose of our merchandising project is to raise awareness and hopefully get a good demographic of the student body to wear them to show campus unity. The design is simple but effective. All proceeds made from the t-shirt sales will go straight to Japan through our chosen two charities, the Diocese of Sendai and Japan-American Society of Indiana. We believe that these two charities are the most identifiable with the community and will get the proper relief to the people in a timely manner. We chose the Diocese because it supports the university mission and Sendai was one of the cities that was hit hardest. The Diocese would be able to help the community under its umbrella directly. As for JASI, it is a non-profit organization and will send 100% of the donations to relief services in Japan. It is an established organization that many local people from the community support. Through both these charities, we hope that people will identify with the cause.
